For us, this has, for many years now, involved taking a sustainable approach to procurement and production processes. We’ve done it! Sachsenküchen has been certified as a CO2-neutral manufacturer by the DGM (Gütegemeinschaft Möbel – German association for furniture quality). The impressive record: our emissions are down by a remarkable 724.27 tCO2e this year. The small volume remaining is offset by the acquisition of climate protection certificates.
Sustainable thinking and acting.
Our chipboards are all about sustainability, and we make sure to keep residual waste as low as possible. This is achieved through digital optimisation of furniture cuts and customised, individually manufactured wooden components, with no overproduction.
Logistics also has a key role to play in climate protection. We have a modern fleet of latest-generation vehicles. Materials are sourced almost exclusively via Germany and Austria, which means short transport distances. Regionality is an issue that we want to promote more and more.
Energy is life. We handle it with care.
By switching our entire factory lighting to LED technology and high-efficiency energy recovery systems for machinery and equipment, we significantly reduced our energy demands. Conserving resources also means saving energy.

OVERPRODUCTION
At Sachsenküchen, all wooden component produced are custom-made and individually manufactured, so there is no ‘overproduction’ for mass production reasons.
GENERATION OF
THERMAL ENERGY
We have our own modern chip heating system for the generation of thermal energy. In this way, Sachsenküchen does not need either oil or gas or a source of energy.

Sachsenküchen uses CARB2-certified chipboard consisting of up to 50% recycled material (scrap wood from furniture, pallets, demolition wood).
